The Border Collie is a very special dog.  It will go without saying that you will expect a dog that is intelligent, very loving, loyal and is gentle and easy to live with. They usually have a great love and tolerance of children. In General they love to be where you are.

Puppy School is recommended to anyone purchasing a puppy. It furthers their social skills from a young age. It also helps bond you and your puppy. Like any dog they require some exercise to keep them fit and healthy, but care must be taken not to over exercise your puppy. They, like babies, need and enjoy their sleep.  Most borders love the water.  They require grooming at least once a week as most have a generous length of coat.
 

A well cared for puppy will grow somewhere between 46 to 51 cm for a bitch and 48 to 53 cm for a dog and will usually live somewhere between 12 to 15 years sometimes longer.

Time and care must be taken to choose a puppy that suits you.
